What To Consider When Commissioning A Wedding Ring

What is involved in commissioning a wedding ring?

All the men’s wedding rings on this page have been made by our Goldsmith Clive. We will work with you on style, width and budget to make sure your very special band is everything you could ask for. A commission works best if you have an idea of what you would like made:

A wedding or commitment ring can be worn for life, it can be individual and reflect the wearer’s personality; it’s a symbol of a couple’s wish to stay together forever. But don’t worry if your idea hasn’t come yet, we’ve put together some favourites from over the years to help you get started, and if you have family gold or heritage pieces we can use that in your new ring to keep the sentiment for the next generation.

If you feel you have specific requirements and are unsure of their feasibility, please let us know, we are happy to consider any ideas

To Consider:

1. What is your budget? If stones, engraving or special finishes are involved the price and lead time can vary.
2. What is your style, do you prefer simple designs, or do you want to add some personality?
3. Do you have sketches or images that you would like to bring along to work from?
4. What materials would you prefer, silver, yellow or white gold, which carat, platinum? Again, the quality of materials will influence the price
5. When do you need the jewellery for. Please give plenty of time for a commission as it can take up to two months to complete.

1. If you’re commissioning a wedding ring, then it’s best to visit us in our shop for an accurate ring sizing.
2. If a visit isn’t possible then a local jeweller should be able to measure your finger for a nominal fee.
3. If you don’t live in Cornwall and can’t visit, we can still make your bespoke rings. We will post them to you…. special delivery.
