Description

Our client brought in a pair of rings that held significant sentimental value, but unfortunately, both had been cut off and were left in a severely distorted and twisted condition. The restoration process began with a careful assessment of the metal’s integrity and the original craftsmanship. Our Goldsmith, Clive, who has nearly fifty years of experience, meticulously straightened the rings, taking great care not to compromise their delicate structure. He then used specialist goldsmithing techniques to realign the bands and restore the shanks and settings to their original shapes. Any weak spots or gaps from the cuts were skilfully filled and seamlessly soldered to ensure durability while maintaining the rings’ authentic appearance. The surfaces were then delicately polished to remove any scratches and to return the rings to their original lustre, highlighting their unique details and preserving their historical character.

At Cathedral Jewellers, we understand the emotional importance of heritage jewellery and treat each piece with the utmost respect.
